Thomas K. Graves, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM), is a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist who joined MedVet Dallas in 2023.
Dr. Graves graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at The Ohio State University. Dr. Graves completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan State University.
Dr. Graves has contributed to more than 300 veterinary publications including peer-reviewed articles, textbook chapters, abstracts, and proceedings.
Dr. Graves has lectured extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, mostly on endocrine and metabolic disorders of dogs and cats. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is meeting people who love their animals as family members. He finds motivation in working closely with a family during a challenging diagnosis or by providing clarity in the management of a complicated case.
Dr. Graves is passionate about teaching and has been in academia for 30 years. He is a Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Midwestern University. In his free time, he enjoys opera, piano, cycling, cooking, and playing his ukuleles.
