Sebastien J. Banos, DVM
Sebastien J. Banos, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Avian & Exotics at MedVet Hilliard.
Dr. Banos earned his Bachelor of Sciences in Biology from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2026.
Dr. Banos maintains a particular interest in exotic animal husbandry, animal welfare, and reptile and amphibian medicine. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is finding new and creative ways to diagnose and treat diseases in exotic animal species. Because each species has unique anatomy, behavior, and medical needs, every case presents an opportunity to learn and think critically. Helping these unique patients while advancing the understanding of exotic animal medicine is both challenging and rewarding.
Dr. Banos is a member of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association (WAVMA), the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), and the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV).
A native French speaker, Dr. Banos is proud to bring a unique perspective to his patient care. Outside of work, he is the proud father of four cats, two snakes (a boa constrictor and a western hognose), and a crested gecko. He previously worked at MedVet as a veterinary assistant in the emergency department and later as a doctor coordinator in the exotics service before beginning veterinary school in 2022.
