Monica P. Moore, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Veterinary Surgery at MedVet Chicago. She has been a part of our team since 2026.

Dr. Moore earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies with a concentration in Animal Physiology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL.

Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at San Francisco Animal Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. She then went on to complete a specialty internship in surgery at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Annapolis, MD.

Dr. Moore maintains particular interests in soft tissue surgery and surgical oncology.

Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is being able to help animals when they are at their most vulnerable while also supporting and educating the people who care about them. She enjoys the combination of medicine, problem-solving, and communication that comes with each case. It is rewarding to not only improve an animal’s quality of life, but also help owners understand their pet’s condition, treatment options, and long-term care so they can feel informed and supported throughout the process.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Moore enjoys latch hooking and playing kakuro.
