Leah S. Morris, DVM, Practice Limited to Surgery, is a veterinarian at MedVet Northern Virginia.
Dr. Morris began her undergraduate studies at Dalhousie University before transitioning to the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
After veterinary school, she completed a yearlong rotating medicine and surgery internship at VCA Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre, followed by a surgery internship at VCA Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre. She then completed her surgery residency at Washington State University.
Dr. Morris co-authored the scientific article “The effect of short-term peripherally-inserted central catheter placement on viscoelastic coagulation parameters in healthy dogs.” in The Canadian Veterinary Journal, and co-presented on the topic at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium.
Dr. Morris most enjoys working with pets and their owners to develop patient-specific treatment plans and continuing to work together as the pet recovers and feels better. Dr. Morris is also fluent in French.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Leah Morris enjoys spending time in nature either biking, swimming, running, or hiking with her Border Collie, Skye. She also enjoys spending time with her horse, Secret, and relaxing with a good book alongside her cats, Cappuccino and Joe.
