Kelsey L. Fugere, DVM, is a veterinarian who is residency trained in Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has been a part of the team since 2021 and joined MedVet Indianapolis in 2024
Dr. Kelsey Fugere attended Cornell University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences with a concentration in animal physiology. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edwards Island. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Kelsey Fugere completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners. She also completed a three-year residency in veterinary internal medicine at MedVet Cincinnati.
Dr. Fugere is passionate about Internal Medicine and has special interests in gastroenterology, infectious diseases, immune-mediated diseases, and endocrinology. She also enjoys veterinary procedures, including upper and lower endoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, blood pleurodesis, thoraco and abdominocentesis, and ultrasonography.
Dr. Fugere’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is building relationships with families and their pets and witnessing the bond between the two. She finds joy in knowing that she is there to help these families during their time in the hospital
When away from the hospital, Dr. Kelsey Fugere enjoys exercising, exploring new places and traveling, reading, watching true crime documentaries, baking, and trying new foods. She is also a huge animal lover, especially large dogs, cervids (deer, elk, moose), and big cats.
