Kayla Smith, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet New Mandeville and MedVet New Orleans where she has been part of the medical team since 2021.
Dr. Smith attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Ecology & Management. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, Dr. Smith completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at VCA Shoreline and VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center.
Dr. Kayla Smith is experienced in all aspects of emergency medicine. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the unpredictability of each day. When not treating patients, Dr. Smith enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and traveling. She also loves LSU sports.
