Katie Como, DVM, MPH, Residency Trained in Internal Medicine is a veterinarian at MedVet New Orleans.
Dr. Como attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry with minors in animal sciences and Spanish and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Then, she earned her Master of Public Health from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge, LA.
Following her graduation, Dr. Katie Como completed a yearlong internship in rotating medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, TN and a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at Texas A&M School Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science in Austin, TX.
Dr. Como has a special interest in the hImmune-mediated, hematologic, and infectious diseases. She is passionate about enhancing the human animal bond while getting to solve complex cases and is excited to be on the team for the collaborative, community-focused culture and the commitment to practicing excellent medicine.
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Como enjoys traveling and experiencing other cultures, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her Golden Retriever Orzo.
