Julie Ann Smith, DVM, DACVAA, is a Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Anesthesia & Analgesia at MedVet Vancouver. She has been a part of the MedVet team since 2014 and joined the Vancouver hospital in 2023.
Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University. Following this, she attended Texas A&M University, where she earned a second Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Smith then completed an anesthesia & analgesia internship and an anesthesia & analgesia residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
From the moment pets arrive in her care, Dr. Julie Smith is passionate about creating stress-free experiences for those needing anesthesia and pain management support. She finds great reward in helping pets feel less afraid when they are hurt and in a strange environment. Dr. Smith is also a passionate teacher who loves sharing her expertise with colleagues and veterinarian technicians on the best ways to provide and monitor anesthesia support.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Julie Smith can be found reading, listening to Blues, creating mosaic art, walking with her little dogs, and cooking big pots of spicy food.
