Joshuah Klutzke, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVIM, is a Board-Certified Veterinary Neurologist at MedVet Indianapolis.

Dr. Klutzke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, IN. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, KS and his Master of Science degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

Following his degrees, Dr. Klutzke completed a yearlong rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a second internship focusing on combined internal medicine and neurology/neurosurgery, also at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed his Neurology & Neurosurgery residency at Purdue University.

He has authored and co-authored five publications on topics spanning neurology, analgesia, and small animal internal medicine. Dr. Klutzke has been recognized with numerous awards, including the ACVIM Clinical Excellence Award, the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologist Award, the Dr. Richard and Pam DeBowes Professional Leadership Award, the Katie McCallister Compassion Award, and Purdue’s Teaching Academy Graduate Teaching Award.

Dr. Klutzke is drawn to veterinary medicine for its unique diagnostic challenges and the meaningful relationships built with pet owners. He finds great reward in solving the medical puzzle presented by patients who cannot directly communicate their symptoms, relying on careful observation, critical thinking, and collaboration. He is equally passionate about educating pet owners, helping them understand their pet’s health and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Klutzke enjoys spending time with his wife, their three dogs, and two cats. They enjoy watching movies, taking walks, and exploring new restaurants and cuisines. He also has a deep personal interest in lifelong learning, finding great satisfaction in immersing himself in new topics and hobbies and continually expanding his knowledge.
