John S. Kett, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Internal Medicine at MedVet Columbus.
Dr. Kett earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in Chemistry from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he graduated as Co-Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 and was honored with the Richard B. Talbot Memorial Award. Dr. Kett completed his rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, Virginia.
During veterinary school, Dr. Kett participated in research on a novel treatment modality for canine appendicular osteosarcoma tumors. His involvement in ongoing clinical trials using histotripsy led to his role as co-author on a publication in Scientific Reports: “The first limb-sparing use of histotripsy for canine osteosarcoma.”
Dr. Kett is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
He values practicing evidence-based medicine in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment, believing it leads to the best quality of care for patients. He looks forward to continuing to grow professionally by learning from the talented team at MedVet each day.
Outside of work, Dr. Kett is an avid lover of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and shares his home with his tri-color Cavalier, Teddy, whom he rescued during veterinary school.
