Jenna Collins, DVM, is Residency Trained in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and is part of the MedVet New Orleans team, contributing to the Critical Care service since 2024.

Dr. Collins earned her Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources ecology and management, with a minor in philosophy, from Louisiana State University. She then pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Collins further advanced her training by completing a small animal rotating medicine and surgery internship, followed by a critical care internship, both at MedVet New Orleans. She then completed her residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Collins has a profound interest in all aspects of veterinary critical care, with special focus areas in extracorporeal therapy, immune-mediated disease, interventional radiology, polytrauma, sepsis, and toxicities. Her favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is providing advanced therapies and procedures to critically ill patients, offering them a second chance at life, and witnessing the joy when those patients are reunited with their families.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Jenna Collins enjoys attending concerts, birdwatching, making jewelry, snowboarding, and spending quality time with her family, partner, and her beloved cats, Virgil and Victor
