Christopher M. Biancaniello, DVM
Veterinary Surgery Resident
Christopher M. Biancaniello, DVM, is a Veterinary Surgery Resident at MedVet Columbus.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Biancaniello completed his undergraduate studies at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, where he studied biology and veterinary technology, earned Dean’s List recognition, and served as a teaching assistant for various courses. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University, completing his clinical year at Tufts University in Grafton, MA.
Dr. Biancaniello then completed a yearlong rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York City and a surgery internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Sorrento Valley, San Diego, CA.
He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, including research on the readability of postoperative discharge instructions and their association with complication rates in companion animals, as well as a case report on a combined tumor in a mixed breed dog. He has presented his research at both national and international conferences, including the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) Surgery Summit, where he received the Best Student Short Communication Award. He also received the Excellence in Surgery Award during veterinary school, recognizing distinguished execution of hands-on surgical skills, and graduated with high honors.
Dr. Biancaniello’s special interest lies in surgery, where he finds deep fulfillment in working with his hands to treat life-threatening conditions and alleviate pain in patients. He is particularly moved by the impact surgical procedures can have on improving a cat or dog’s quality of life — and by the joy it brings to their families.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Biancaniello enjoys the outdoors, weight training, grilling/barbecuing, and spending time with his two cats, Bellini and Mocha.
