Caeley J. Melmed, DVM, Diplomate, ACVIM (SAIM), is a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist at MedVet Dallas. Dr. Melmed completed her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University. She continued at Texas A&M University to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After completing veterinary school, she pursued a yearlong small animal internship at The Ohio State University and returned to Texas A&M for a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine. There she received extensive training in oncology, gastrointestinal disease, and endoscopic procedures.
Following her board certification, Dr. Caeley Melmed practiced as an internist within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex for five years before partnering with Dr. Erika Pickens to start Veterinary Medicine Specialists (VMS) hospital (2008-2017).
Dr. Caeley Melmed has a special interest in ultrasound as well as renal, immune-mediated, and gastrointestinal disease. When outside of the clinic, Dr. Melmed enjoys riding dressage and caring for the 40 odd/useless animals on their farm. Her other love is backpacking in foreign countries with her (now reluctant) husband and two children in tow.
