Atalie Delgado, DVM, is Residency Trained in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Chicago, where she has been a part of the team since 2024.
Dr. Delgado received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following this, she completed a clinical year at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Delgado completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at MedVet Chicago and completed a residency in Critical Care at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.
Dr. Delgado is an accomplished author with publications including Evaluation of the Trauma Associated Severe Hemorrhage Score as a Predictor of Transfusion in Traumatized Dogs. Her contributions reflect her commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in veterinary medicine.
While interested in many areas of Critical Care, Dr. Delgado is most passionate about respiratory emergencies. She has particular interests in mechanical ventilation, as it has provided veterinarians the opportunity to save countless animals. Her favorite part about practicing veterinary medicine is interacting with owners from different backgrounds and cultures. Dr. Delgado is fluent in Spanish and finds joy in using her language skills to provide compassionate communication to all her clients. She believes that the human-animal bond expands to all cultures and enjoys promoting and advocating for diversity in veterinary medicine.
Outside of the profession, Dr. Atalie Delgado enjoys reading a good book while snuggling up to her beloved dog, participating in exercise classes, and exploring new restaurants with her husband.
