Andrea S. Gomez-Ortiz, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Veterinary Radiology at MedVet Indianapolis.
Dr. Gomez-Ortiz earned her Bachelor of Science in veterinary technology from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University in Grenada. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl in Levittown, PA.
Her favorite parts of practicing veterinary medicine are successfully reaching a final diagnosis and seeing patients’ reactions when they are finally reunited with their owners at discharge. Dr. Gomez-Ortiz is also fluent in Spanish.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, when not caring for patients she enjoys reading fiction, playing video games, and doing her own manicures.
