Mysteries of the Mediastinum: A Practical Imaging Approach

This live interactive medical program for veterinary professionals will provide a practical imaging approach to the canine and feline mediastinum, in addition to radiographic anatomy, recognition of mediastinal abnormalities, and lesion localization. This course will also review common radiographic pitfalls and limitations through case presentations, plus ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) as complementary modalities.

Learning Objectives

  1. Normal radiographic anatomy of the canine and feline mediastinum and how to recognize findings suggestive of mediastinal disease.
  2. A systematic radiographic approach to localize thoracic abnormalities to the mediastinum and distinguish mediastinal from pulmonary origin.
  3. Common limitations and pitfalls of radiographic assessment and when ultrasonography or computed tomography may provide additional diagnostic information.
