Veterinary Critical Care Intern
Caity Erickson, DVM, MS (she/her), is a Veterinary Critical Care Intern at MedVet Columbus.
Dr. Erickson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, with a minor in neuroscience, from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and her Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Following her graduate training, she completed a yearlong rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Dr. Erickson was honored with the Gentle Doctor Award in 2023.
Watching critically ill patients recover and be reunited with their families is the most rewarding part of her work. She maintains particular clinical interests in sepsis, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and coagulopathies.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Erickson enjoys gardening, hiking with her dogs, and cooking — always on the lookout for new recipes and exciting foods to try.
