Find a Doctor Timothy Ericksen

Timothy Ericksen, DVM, DACVS (Small Animal)

Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon

Timothy Ericksen, DVM, Diplomate, ACVS (Small Animal), is a Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Columbus.

Dr. Ericksen earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Findlay. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Ericksen completed a yearlong internship in Rotating Medicine & Surgery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, followed by a yearlong specialty internship in Surgery in Los Angeles, California. He then completed his residency in Surgery in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

He has authored and co-authored numerous publications and presentations on topics including surgical oncology, patella luxation, soft tissue sarcomas, gastric dilatation and volvulus, and laryngeal paralysis. He currently serves as a Clinical Investigator for a pilot field trial evaluating a novel vaccine for osteoarthritis in dogs.

Surgery is his favorite part of veterinary medicine, as it provides the opportunity to have a positive impact on patients and allow them to continue living long and happy lives with their families. Having previously served at MedVet Columbus as an emergency veterinarian before pursuing surgical training, he chose to return and rejoin the Columbus Surgery team for its culture of multi-specialty collaboration, its commitment to training future surgeons, and the opportunity to continue expanding his surgical skills alongside talented colleagues.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Ericksen enjoys lifelong learning, playing guitar, working out, and spending time with family.
