Alessandra Chiaramonte, VMD, Limited to the Practice of Surgery, CCRP

Alessandra Chiaramonte, VMD, Limited to the Practice of Surgery, CCRP (she/her), is a veterinarian at MedVet Norwalk, where she has been a part of the team since 2026.

Dr. Chiaramonte earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology & biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (PennVet) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Chiaramonte completed a yearlong rotating internship in medicine and surgery at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York, New York. She then completed a surgery residency at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in Houston, Texas, followed by an additional surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (UT-CVM) in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She has authored and co-authored publications in the field of veterinary surgery. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery and prophylactic care, such as laparoscopic ovariectomy and gastropexy.

Dr. Chiaramonte is passionate about the constant learning associated with new and innovative surgical techniques that bring high-quality, individualized care to each patient. She values the strong partnerships she builds with pet owners when determining a surgical plan that will best fit their goals and their pet’s needs through clear communication and compassionate guidance. It is always rewarding to see a pet through their surgical journey and recovery.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Chiaramonte enjoys reading a good book on the beach, spending time with her dog Chase, and enjoying seafood with her husband
