Kiersten K. Forsyth (She/Her/Hers), DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVIM (Cardiology), is a Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist at MedVet Indianapolis, where she has been a part of the team since 2026.
Dr. Forsyth earned her Honors Bachelor of Science in animal sciences, with minors in zoology and chemistry, from Oregon State University. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, also from Oregon State University. She subsequently completed her Master of Science in Veterinary clinical sciences at Purdue University.
Dr. Forsyth completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland, Washington. She then pursued additional specialty training, completing a cardiology specialty internship at Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists in Bonita Springs, Florida, followed by a Clinical Trials Research Fellowship with the Dog Aging Project at Texas A&M University, and a cardiology specialty internship at Purdue University. She completed her cardiology residency at Purdue University.
Dr. Forsyth has authored and co-authored multiple publications on topics spanning cardiology and aging research. Her residency research project, evaluating the cardiovascular effects of a new sedative medication, was accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and was recognized as one of the winners of the 2025 ACVIM Resident Research Abstract Award.
Her clinical interests include the management of acquired heart disease, arrhythmias, and interventional procedures for congenital heart disease, including pacemaker implantation. She is passionate about helping pets maintain a good quality of life and finds great fulfillment in offering both medical and interventional options to manage heart disease.
When not caring for patients, she enjoys reading, crocheting, cross-stitching, painting, and spending time with her puppy, Eris, and her cat, Persephone
