Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus: An Update on the Research and an Introduction to the Grid Gastropexy

This live interactive medical program for veterinary professionals will review updated research on the association between prophylactic gastropexy and mesenteric torsion, as well as provide an overview of the risk factors for gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV) development. In addition, this course will feature the U.S. Army’s grid gastropexy technique as an alternative to traditional incisional gastropexy.

Learning Objectives.

  1. Risk factors for development of gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV).
  2. The association between gastropexy and mesenteric torsion.
  3. The paramedian grid gastropexy technique for prophylactic gastropexy.
