She is drawn to surgery for its hands-on nature and the meaningful recoveries it makes possible. She especially enjoys complex cases and finds deep satisfaction in alleviating disease and pain, whether helping a patient become comfortable again or regain the ability to walk. She also values the opportunity to connect with pet owners and support the human-animal bond during challenging times. Dr. Marquez chose MedVet for its multidisciplinary environment and large, diverse surgical caseload, which together provide a well-rounded training experience as she works toward becoming a boarded surgeon. She is also fluent in Spanish.

Outside of work, she enjoys Pilates classes, long walks by the Scioto, spin classes on the weekends, and keeping up with Formula One races. She was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and loves escaping to the Caribbean Sea. She shares her home with her buff tabby cat, Blair.
