Kelly Catanzaro, DVM, DACVM (Bacteriology)
Emergency Medicine Veterinarian
Kelly Catanzaro, DVM, DACVM (Bacteriology), is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Cleveland and MedVet Northern Virginia, joining the team in July 2026.
Dr. Catanzaro earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Following her DVM, she completed her PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
Dr. Catanzaro completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at MedVet Akron in Akron, Ohio.
During her PhD, she authored multiple publications. She is a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the International Society of Companion Animal Infectious Diseases (ISCAID).
What drives Dr. Catanzaro most is the ability to help animals and their families in their time of need. She also has a deep passion for teaching and finds mentoring interns and new emergency medicine veterinarians to be incredibly rewarding. Rejoining MedVet feels like coming home, as she completed her internship here and has always valued the organization’s dedication to animals and its veterinary-owned and driven mission.
Outside of work, she enjoys attempting to improve her watercolor painting, which she finds to be a wonderful creative outlet.
