Grace Pechman, DVM
Grace Pechman, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Surgery at WestVet Boise.
Dr. Pechman earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, where she majored in Biology with a double emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Science and Animal Biology, and minored in Business Administration and Chemistry. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis, West Indies, completing her clinical year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her rotating internship in medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Pechman has been recognized with the SAVMA Leadership and Excellence Award for Diversity and Inclusion from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed the Emerging Deaf Leader Series through Safe’N’Clear.
As someone with a disability, she sees the importance and value of inclusion and accessibility firsthand. Her goal is to help the veterinary profession be more inclusive towards individuals and communities with disabilities, especially those with hearing loss. She believes that applying Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) into daily practice is vital for everyone’s success, particularly when it comes to patient care. She wants the community to know that there are professionals with disabilities who care about them and their pets.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Pechman enjoys hiking, bird watching, and baking, along with spending time with her family, friends, two dogs (Tiramisu and Mango), and two cats (Echo Bean and Jasmine).
