Alexis Grieser, DVM
Alexis Grieser, DVM, is a Rotating Intern at WestVet Boise, joining the team in June 2026.
Dr. Grieser earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with minors in Art, Biology, and Math, from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in Pullman, WA.
She has co-authored several publications spanning veterinary and biomedical research, including work on treponeme-associated hoof disease in captive elk, *Plasmodium falciparum* malaria, and influenza A virus replication.
Dr. Grieser has broad professional interests including One Health, free-ranging wildlife medicine, aquatic animal medicine, zoo medicine, exotic companion animal medicine, and anesthesiology. She especially enjoys getting to know clients and their pets, and takes pride in learning about each family’s unique background and experiences to provide the best possible care.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, printmaking, and painting. At home, she shares her life with her partner and three beloved animals: Leonard, a crusty old poodle mix rescued from Mexico; Winnebago, a super smart pitbull/heeler mix (and her first spay surgery); and Buffy the Mouse Slayer, a mischievous tortoiseshell ex-barn cat.
