Rachel Hau, DVM
Emergency Medicine Veterinarian
Rachel Hau, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Northern Utah, where she has been part of the team since 2026.
Dr. Hau attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science with a focus in equine studies. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, Dr. Hau completed an internship in rotating medicine and surgery at Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center.
Although she enjoys all aspects of emergency veterinary medicine, Dr. Hau has particular interests in critical stabilization, hospice care, and wound management. She is passionate about making a difference for both patients and their families and values supporting pet owners during difficult and emotional situations. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is helping guide families through important decisions in their pet’s care.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Rachel Hau enjoys camping, hiking, and swimming, as well as spending time with her husband and their pets, including a tripod German Shepherd and an orange cat. She also enjoys horseback riding and exploring the outdoors.
