Jess Hindman Clark, LSW
Jess Hindman Clark, LSW, is a licensed Ohio Social Worker specializing in Veterinary Social Work. She joined MedVet Columbus in 2025, after beginning her career with MedVet in 2020 at our Dayton hospital as a Client Service Representative, followed by serving as a Radiology Assistant for approximately 4 years while pursuing her social work education.
Jess earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati; during which she completed a year-long internship in the field of veterinary social work at MedVet Columbus. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a focus in veterinary social work, working toward clinical licensure.
With nearly 20 years of experience in professional animal care, Jess has worked in general practice, specialty and emergency medicine, and shelter medicine. Jess also has an extensive history working with animal welfare organizations, including her former role as a founding board member for Central Ohio Pit Savers in 2013, where she first realized the human-animal bond goes far deeper beyond the surface through the organization’s work with the Franklin County Dog Shelter’s shelter diversion program. The goal of this program is to keep pets and families together by helping pet parents identify and overcome barriers such as access to veterinary care, physical limitations, or connecting to other community resources addressing the needs of both the pet and the person who loves them.
Jess has special interests in grief and pet loss support, animal-assisted interventions, and veterinary professional wellbeing. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her dogs, Imogen and Eloise, and volunteering with the Glen Helen Raptor Center’s “Bird Taxi” program, helping to transport birds of prey to the Yellow Springs rehabilitation center, as well as releasing them back into the wild once they have healed. By far, her favorite way to relax is spending time outside with her camera, looking for opportunities to photograph birds and wildlife.
