Pick Your Poison: Toxins in Veterinary Medicine
Course Description
This non-interactive distance (On Demand) medical program for veterinary technicians will preview the clinical signs, pathophysiology, and progression of toxicity in common toxic exposures encountered in small animal practice with an emphasis on how toxin dose, species differences, and time to presentation influence clinical outcomes. In addition, this course will review appropriate diagnostic plans for suspected toxin exposures based on case presentation and toxin type, plus how to apply treatment strategies and emergency interventions for a variety of toxin-related emergencies. This course will also review how to assess prognosis and provide follow-up care based on toxin class and severity of clinical signs.
