Emergency Medicine Veterinarian
Emily McConnelly, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Dayton, where she has been a part of the team since 2026.
Dr. McConnelly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in classical languages from Hope College, graduating magna cum laude. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, Dr. McConnelly completed an internship in rotating medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners.
Dr. McConnelly’s professional interests include emergency medicine, exotic pet medicine, and ophthalmology. Her favorite part of the veterinary profession is providing comfort and care to pets and their families during critical moments, as well as mentoring early-career veterinarians to help them grow their skills and care for more patients. She has also served on the faculty of The Ohio State University, where she spent four years teaching veterinary students and supporting interns in the small animal emergency room, and has spoken at international veterinary conferences on topics related to emergency and exotic mammal medicine.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Emily McConnelly enjoys gardening, knitting, and supporting the Columbus Crew.
