Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care
Roxanna Khorzad, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC, CCRT, is a Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Austin, where she began caring for patients in 2025.
Dr. Roxanna Khorzad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin. She then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship and a residency in critical care at Angell Animal Medical Center.
Although she is experienced in all aspects of emergency and critical care, Dr. Khorzad has special interests in immune-mediated disease, metabolic emergencies, sepsis, toxicities, trauma, and wound management. Her favorite part of the veterinary profession is being able to make a meaningful difference during some of the most difficult moments in a pet’s life—stabilizing critically ill patients and reuniting them with their families.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Roxanna Khorzad enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking, relaxing with a good book, hiking outdoors, and discovering new restaurants in the area.
