Karin Prater, DVM, Diplomate, ACVR, is a Board-certified Veterinary Radiologist at MedVet Austin, where she began caring for patients in 2025.
Dr. Karin Prater earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed both a radiology internship and a residency in radiology at a private practice in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Prater’s clinical interests include cross-sectional imaging, small animal abdominal ultrasound, and performing echocardiograms. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is collaborating with clinicians and team members to solve complex medical challenges and provide answers that guide the best possible care for patients.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Karin Prater enjoys spending time with her young family, whether it’s a quiet evening at home or an outdoor adventure.
