Levi H. Smith, DVM, MS, Practice Limited to Diseases of the Animal Eye
Levi H. Smith, DVM, MS, is a veterinarian who is Limited to Diseases of the Animal Eye. He has been a part of the MedVet Chicago team since 2025.
Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and Spanish linguistics and culture from Ball State University. He then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences from Purdue University. Following veterinary school, he completed an internship in rotating medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia before completing a residency in veterinary ophthalmology at Purdue University.
His special interests include cataract surgery, exotic animal ophthalmology, eyelid abnormalities and periocular reconstructive surgery, and glaucoma management. Dr. Smith’s favorite part of the veterinary profession is supporting the human-animal bond by improving pets’ comfort, vision, and having the opportunity to help all species through compassionate ophthalmologic care.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Levi Smith enjoys food and wine, kayaking and hiking, live music, rollerblading, and tap dancing.
