Jennifer Mahoney, DVM, PGDip VetEd, FHEA, Diplomate, ACVIM (Oncology), is a Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologist at MedVet Norwalk, where she has been a part of the team since 2025.

Dr. Mahoney earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences from Wellesley College and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, Dr. Mahoney completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the Animal Medical Center and a residency in Medical Oncology at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Mahoney spent 10 years on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and Tufts Cummings Schools of Veterinary Medicine, where she mentored numerous veterinary students, interns, and oncology residents. During her time in academia, she completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Education from the Royal Veterinary College and earned recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr. Mahoney also served as Chief of the Comprehensive Cancer Care section at Pennsylvania State University, Oncology Residency Program Director at Tufts University, and Chair of the ACVIM Oncology Credentials Committee.

Dr. Mahoney has authored and co-authored multiple peer- reviewed publications in oncology, including work on gene expression in soft tissue sarcomas and clinical outcomes in canine gastrointestinal sarcomas. A complete list of Dr. Mahoney’s publications can be found here.

Dr. Mahoney is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care for each patient while promoting the best possible quality of life.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Jennifer Mahoney enjoys hiking and dog training.
