Sarah Maxson, DVM
Sarah Maxson, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Veterinary Cardiology at MedVet Columbus, where she has been part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Sarah Maxson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as biology, from Otterbein University. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, Dr. Maxson completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center.
Dr. Maxson has a special interest in managing cardiac emergencies and treating congenital heart disease. She is passionate about preserving the bond between pets and their families and finds fulfillment in helping pets live longer, happier lives through thoughtful, compassionate care.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Sarah Maxson enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and camping, staying active, exploring the Columbus food and coffee scene, and being with her family, friends, and her beloved Corgi, who has her own inspiring story of overcoming a congenital heart condition.
