Jonathan T. Shiroma, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVR, is a Board-certified Veterinary Radiologist at MedVet Columbus where he has been a part of the team since 1995.
Dr. Shiroma completed his undergraduate and veterinary education at Oregon State University, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following graduation, he practiced at a general and referral hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. He then undertook a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital, followed by a three-year residency in radiology at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he also obtained a Master of Science degree. Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Shiroma served as an assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
Since achieving board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) in 1993, Dr. Shiroma has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of veterinary radiology. He has contributed to the ACVR through 17 years of committee service, including terms as president of both the ACVR and the Veterinary Ultrasound Society. His scholarly work is published in peer-reviewed journals such as Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and Veterinary and Comparative Orthopedics and Traumatology.
Dr. Jonathan T. Shiroma’s professional interests encompass all facets of small animal radiology, with particular interest in abdominal ultrasonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
