Sarah Berger, MBA, serves as the Vice President, Communications for MedVet. She is responsible for the organization’s strategic communications initiatives, media and public relations, and special events; overseeing a dynamic team dedicated to creating compelling narratives and fostering meaningful connections with stakeholders. Her creativity and storytelling are relied upon by colleagues throughout the organization, including the executive team.
Prior to joining MedVet in September 2017, Sarah spent five years with Optum Workers’ Comp and Auto No-fault Solutions (formerly Helios), where she held leadership responsibility for all aspects of the Division’s branding, marketing, and communications strategy and plan execution. Her earlier experience includes 14 years at Great American Insurance, where she was instrumental in growing the Alternative Markets Division, initially in claims and ultimately as divisional vice president of business development and marketing. She received the company’s Innovation Award for co-founding the Corporate Marketing Committee in 2010.
Sarah’s professional accolades include being named the Most Admired CMO in Central Ohio by Columbus Business First in 2022 and earning an OnCon Icon Award and Top 50 Marketer Award in 2023. She is a 2006 YWCA Rising Star, Cincinnati Chapter and a member of the inaugural 2007 YWCA Board Leadership Program. Work created under her leadership has earned recognition, too, including two Gold eHealthcare Leadership Awards for Best Digital Marketing ROI and Outcomes and Best Search Engine Marketing Campaign, RIMS Best in Show, Silver Addy Awards, multiple Silver and Gold Aster Awards, as well as numerous PRism and PRSA Blacksmith Awards in various marketing and communications categories.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Spanish from Mount Union College and an Executive MBA from Xavier University, Williams College of Business. She is an active member of the community, volunteering her time as a steering committee member for Leadership Worthington and serving as President of the Worthington Kilbourne Boys Tennis team booster with Wolves, Inc. Sarah currently serves as President of the MedVet Charitable Foundation.
When not at work, Sarah enjoys Peloton, reading, shelling, and spending time with her family and her dog, Roo, who is a constant office companion.
