Julie Brown, PHR, SHRM-CP, has served as the Vice President, Human Resources (HR), Culture, and Diversity for MedVet since January 2023. In this role, she is responsible for the design and supervision of leadership development, coaching and mentoring, plus career development programs, as well as the efficient delivery of HR services to the organization by providing an innovative approach to organizational challenges. In addition, she develops the broader HR strategy in alignment with the objectives and long-term strategic vision of the organization. Fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace, Julie serves as a consultative partner to those leading our Black Employee Network and LGBTQIA+ Employee Network, as well as building and implementing MedVet’s diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. Julie was previously the Director, Human Resources at MedVet, plus held other HR positions for sixteen years. She joined MedVet in September 2006.
Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in human resource management at Franklin University. In addition, she earned her Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), plus is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She also obtained her Crucial Conversations Certification in 2019 and Hogan Assessment Certification in 2022.
When not at work, Julie can be found with her husband, two boys, and mini Bernedoodle (a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Miniature Poodle). She enjoys reading, bicycling, pickleball, and spending time outdoors.
