Common Cardiology Misconceptions

This live interactive medical program for veterinary professionals will review common cardiology myths and misconceptions. In addition, this course will focus on evidence-based management of cardiac diseases including congestive heart failure, heartworm disease, and dilated ventricular disease.

Learning Objectives

  1. Chronic cough is typically associated with respiratory disease rather than congestive heart failure.
  2. Heartworm disease should not cause pulmonary edema, although is often associated with pneumonitis and pulmonary hypertension.
  3. How to identify the appropriate stage of dilated ventricular disease (DVD) for initiating specific treatment and management of DVD.
