Yujin Joung, DVM, MS, is a Veterinary Surgery Resident at MedVet Columbus, where she began caring for patients in 2025.
Dr. Yujin Joung earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences with a minor in chemistry and a Master of Science degree in agricultural production from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also completed a Rotating Medicine & Surgery Internship at the University of Missouri and a Surgical Internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Joung is passionate about all aspects of surgery—from intricate soft tissue procedures to complex orthopedic, reconstructive, and neurological surgeries. She finds it deeply rewarding to relieve pain, restore function, and help pets return to the activities they love. Whether she’s repairing a cruciate ligament, removing a life-threatening mass, or carefully closing a delicate incision, she considers it a privilege to support each patient’s healing journey. One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is seeing a pet eat, walk, or play again after surgery.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Yulin Joung enjoys biking, hiking, and rock climbing to stay active and connect with nature. She’s also a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast and finds meditation helps her stay grounded and present. A devoted foodie, she’s always exploring new flavors and culinary adventures. Most of all, she treasures time with her family and her three beloved pets—her dog and two cats.
