Wendy Ruiz Contreras, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Jupiter, where she has been an integral part of the team since 2024.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ruiz Contreras completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Ruiz Contreras’s special interests include aquatic, exotic, and wildlife medicine, as well as ophthalmology. She is passionate about witnessing the tangible progress of her patients as they respond to treatment. She finds immense satisfaction in seeing a once-ailing animal regain its health and vitality. Thriving in collaborative environments, she values working alongside skilled colleagues to provide the highest quality of care. Enhancing the human-animal bond and strengthening the connection between pets and their families is a central motivation for her.
Outside of the veterinary profession, Dr. Wendy Ruiz Contreras enjoys bird watching, exploring new cultures, hiking, painting landscapes with acrylics, traveling, and trying different cuisines.
