Emergency Medicine Veterinarian
Mercedes Hernandez, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Columbus, where she has been a part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Hernandez earned her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating medicine & surgery internship at Angell Animal Medical Center.
She has special interests in caring for patients with cardiology and neurology needs. She is especially passionate about guiding pets through urgent situations and working hand-in-hand with their families to create care plans that support both the patient’s health and the owner’s peace of mind.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Mercedes Hernandez enjoys exploring new restaurants, playing guitar, and practicing photography.
