Matthew Mitsch, DVM, MS, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Indianapolis, where he has been a part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Matthew Mitsch earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a major in biology from DePauw University. He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Purdue University of Indianapolis.
Dr. Mitsch is especially interested in emergency and critical care, as well as small animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He finds fulfillment in nurturing the human-animal bond through high-quality, compassionate care and enjoys supporting pet families as they make decisions for their pets’ wellbeing. In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Mitsch has contributed to veterinary research, including a publication exploring cannabinoid receptors in canine immune cells.
Outside of the veterinary profession, Dr. Matthew Mitsch enjoys cooking—a passion passed down from his mother—as well as spending time outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, and running. He is a former college athlete who enjoys staying active and is a lifelong, dedicated Colts fan.
