Matthew D. Harjes, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Salt Lake City, where he joined the team in 2025.
Dr. Matthew Harjes earned Bachelor of Science degrees in biochemistry and biological sciences from Mississippi State University. He went on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Harjes has special interests in Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Ophthalmology, and toxicology. He is passionate about delivering timely, compassionate care to pets in urgent need and values the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of emergency medicine. Dr. Harjes enjoys continually expanding his knowledge and takes pride in communicating clearly with pet owners to help guide important decisions and ensure the best possible outcomes.
Outside of the veterinary profession, Dr. Matthew Harjes enjoys beekeeping, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and SCUBA diving.
