Emergency Medicine Veterinarian
Katie Thompson, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Atlanta, where she has been a part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Washington State University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Her special interests include emergency and critical care, transfusion medicine, soft tissue surgery, traumatic injuries and wound care, toxicities, and feline urinary obstructions. Dr. Thompson’s favorite part of the veterinary profession is being there for pets and their families in emergency situations. She values the opportunity to make a difference when it matters most, and she finds it especially rewarding to see a critically ill pet recover and regain strength.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Katie Thompson enjoys spending time with her husband, Shane, their dog Sophie, and their cat Chandler. She also enjoys crafts and DIY projects, good coffee, reading and audiobooks, and traveling.
