Dr. Katherine Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and environmental studies from Tulane University. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, she completed a Rotating Medicine & Surgery Internship at the University of Georgia and a Critical Care Residency at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Smith has special interests in infectious diseases, feline critical care, trauma recovery, and helping pets recover from surgery. She is especially passionate about improving the experience for pets who are hospitalized, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout their stay. Dr. Smith is dedicated to supporting both pets and their families during stressful situations, combining her medical expertise with kindness and clear communication every step of the way.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Katherine Smith enjoys spending quiet time at home and embracing the joys of everyday life with her pets and loved ones.
