Jennifer Mahoney, DVM, PGDip VetEd, FHEA, Diplomate, ACVIM (Oncology), is a Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologist at MedVet Norwalk, where she has been a part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Mahoney earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences from Wellesley College. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Education with Distinction from the Royal Veterinary College and earned recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Following veterinary school, Dr. Mahoney completed a rotating medicine & surgery internship at the Animal Medical Center and a residency in Medical Oncology at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Mahoney has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in oncology, including work on doxorubicin extravasation in cats, gene expression in soft tissue sarcomas, gastrointestinal lymphoma in cats, primary lung tumors and environmental radon levels, osteosarcoma treatments, and clinical outcomes in canine gastrointestinal sarcomas and hemangiosarcoma.
Her special interests include medical oncology and veterinary education. Dr. Mahoney is passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care for each patient while promoting the best possible quality of life. She also enjoys mentoring future veterinary professionals.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Jennifer Mahoney enjoys hiking and dog training.
