Jay N. Gladden, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC is a Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Columbus. In addition to obtaining board certification in emergency and critical care medicine, Dr. Jay Gladden has extensive experience working as a clinician-educator in several collaborative, multi-specialty environments, spanning from academic to private practice specialty teaching hospitals. Dr. Gladden’s vision of emergency critical care medicine is focused on a scholarly yet practical approach, centered on innovations in ECC training and advancement of the field of acute critical care and resuscitation medicine.
As an emergency critical care specialist and recent trauma center medical director, Dr. Jay Gladden is dedicated to the further development of critical care service and a hospital culture that embraces the innately progressive nature of veterinary medicine. He is a huge proponent of team-based trauma care, and training the next generation of ECC team members to deliver acute critical and resuscitation care, to significantly affect and improve upon critically ill patient outcomes.
Dr. Gladden graduated from New Mexico State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, obtained his DVM from North Carolina State University-College of Veterinary Medicine, and completed his emergency critical care residency at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2013.
Dr. Gladden remains passionate about providing innovative medical education, and is a life-long learner as well, with strong interests in critical care ultrasound, compassionate palliative care, polytrauma resuscitation, and post cardiopulmonary arrest management.
