Carolina Torres Villegas, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Veterinary Surgery at MedVet Chicago, where she has been part of the team since 2025.
Dr. Torres Villegas attended the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology. Following this, Dr. Torres Villegas attended The Ohio State University, where she received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree before completing a rotating internship at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Torres Villegas then pursued a specialty internship in Surgery at the Animal Surgical Center of Michigan.
Although Dr. Torres Villegas is passionate about all aspects of veterinary surgery, she has a particular focus on soft tissue procedures, with a special emphasis on thoracic and abdominal surgeries. She finds immense fulfillment in witnessing the strong bond between pets and their owners, and the joy that owners experience when their beloved pets are able to heal and thrive.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Carolina Torres Villegas enjoys spending quality time with her family and pets, exploring the outdoors through hiking, and unwinding with video games and reading.
