Anna Gates, DVM, MS, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Austin, where she began caring for patients in 2025.
Dr. Anna Gates earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Houston–Downtown and a Master of Science degree in biology with a focus on microbial ecology from Texas State University. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Gates’ clinical interests include infectious diseases, emergency and critical care, pathology, transfusion medicine, and exotic medicine. One of her favorite parts of the veterinary profession is helping pets during their most critical moments and supporting the families who love them.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Anna Gates enjoys scuba diving, traveling the world with her husband, relaxing with her pets, and reading crime dramas or lighthearted fiction.
