
Roger Veliz, MS, CSSBB
Vice President, Operations
Roger Veliz, MS, CSSBB, serves as the Vice President, Operations for MedVet, a position he’s held since April 2017. In this role, he leads the operations team, consisting of operations, procurement, purchasing, facilities, and inventory management. Roger works closely with the clinical and administration teams to prioritize operational processes and projects to improve patient outcomes and the client experience across hospitals. He ensures operations regulatory compliance, clinical equipment maintenance, plus vendor management. Roger was previously the Director, Operations at MedVet for five years.
Prior to joining MedVet in February 2012, Roger worked at Cardinal Health for eight years in the roles of Manager of Inventory Management, Manager of Operational Excellence, Project Engineer, and Maintenance and Compliance Supervisor. He became a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and led projects with annual savings close to $28M when he was the Manager of Operational Excellence Manager at Cardinal Health. In all these roles, he identified and executed performance improvement opportunities, supporting successful implementations within the organization utilizing Lean Six Sigma improvement tools, while keeping within the constraints of budget, schedule, and scope. His earlier experience included being a Maintenance Mechanic on operation equipment at Lowe’s Home Improvement Distribution Center, a Production Supervisor at O.K. Industries, Inc.
Roger earned his degree in engineering, electronic and process control, from Universidad Nacional Experimental Politécnico de la Fuerza Armada (previously known as Instituto Universitario Politécnico de las Fuerzas Armadas Nacionales). He also earned a Master of Science degree in informational systems from University of Phoenix. In addition, Roger earned a Black Belt Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in Six Sigma methodologies.
When not at work, Roger enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters traveling to new places, attending his daughters’ sporting and school events, as well as doing small remodeling projects around his house.
